Local Lifestyle
One of the most friendly neighborhoods in the greater DC area plays host to a number of festivals each year. One favorite occasion looked forward to by all would be Oktoberfest. Multiple stages offer live entertainment while traditional Bavarian brews and eats are served. Other Oktoberfest attractions include apple cider pressing, wagon rides, arts and crafts, and inflatables. More quiet days can be spent at one of the local parks or trails, like the one surrounding Inspiration Lake. This is one of several in the area, and is located close to a playground, picnic tables, and sporting fields.

The bustling center of Kentlands and Lakelands features no shortage of great places to eat, sip, relax, and make memories. Well-known brands have set up shop in Kentlands Market Square, in addition to several locally owned establishments with loyal followings of their own. From sushi to Mediterranean cuisine, to luxury cinemas and spas, there is something to enjoy each day of the week.
Yoyogi Sushi is a local favorite, known for its creative takes on classic sushi rolls. A diverse, and reasonably-priced menu features best-sellers like crunchy tuna rolls, jumbo tempura, and the ever-unique sweet potato roll. Other unique dishes can be found at Vasili’s Kitchen, a top choice for Mediterranean cuisine. Delectable creations include lamb chops, grilled octopus, and creamy tzatziki dip. Feel free to stay for a while; their drink menu changes often and never fails to disappoint those looking for something unique and surprising.
Kentlands Market Square is the home of it all, located centrally within the community. This walkable and friendly center is home to many well-known national brands like Starbucks and Whole Foods, and other smaller businesses. One of the most popular stops in Market Square would be Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas. This high-end movie-going experience offers leather reclining chairs, a full food and drink menu, complete with a friendly waitstaff on hand to deliver items right to your seats.
Things To Do
Kentlands and Lakelands is a historic community, with amenities and activities for the conveniences of today. One of the most well-known attractions in the area is the Kentlands Mansion. The stately manor was built in 1900 and serves as a site for weddings and other celebrations. The mansion also hosts a rotating collection of art pieces, available for public viewing. Another spot to view amazing art is the Kentlands Arts Barn. A wondrously renovated former stable adjacent to the Mansion is a viewing room for visual and performing arts, with a 99-seat theater.
